HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year to our dearest friends, family and colleagues!  With 2007 officially behind us, we'd like to take the time reflect on all that has happened in this past year.

Jade is now 7 years old and will turn 8 on February 16.  Jade finished out the first half of 2007, with excellent marks in her First Grade class. She is now in the Second Grade and continues to enjoy hanging out with her friends at Blandford School. She and April have been spending lots of time with Grandma Mary and Nani after school.  Jade went camping 3 times last summer! (see the photos...) Many of you may recall Jade's fascination with Phantom of the Opera - for her birthday last February, we took Jade to the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas to see the live stage production - front row, middle, right next to the orchestra. She thoroughly enjoyed it!  However, Jade now has a new obsession - the musical Wicked. For her 8th Birthday, we will be treating Jade to the stage production of Wicked in Los Angeles. Jade can't wait!

April's online business has taken off like wildfire! A new and important avenue for online sales has taken off for April this year – she is excited to have launched her very own online store at Pukashell.com in July.  All of her creative and clever hand crafted items are featured on her Etsy site. She is now featured on numerous online blogs. Check out her Flickr site to The Buzz and read the latest on Pukashell Creative Designs. Her products are selling worldwide and she has even attracted collectors of her handmade gifts. And it hasn’t stopped there…Twenty pieces of April's craft are traveling in the 2008 'Sugarcraft' Exhibit, an International Exhibition curated by Wynter Whiteside - Kasia Kay Art Projects, Chicago, Il. This is a 'sugar-themed' exhibition, revolving around indulgence in the arts. The Sugarcraft exhibit, features artworks by over 50 artists, a traveling store and a tie-in at each tour stop with a culinary institute.

Kimo has once again switched directions in his career. After an exciting whirlwind year at Weston Solutions, Kimo has decided to leave the world of consulting to join the LA County Sanitation Districts. Kimo really enjoyed his time at Weston, traveling coast to coast in pursuit of opportunities for the company. Most notably, Kimo spent almost three weeks in New Orleans on a job with the Army Corps of Engineers - see this year’s photo link for details. However, as of October, Kimo has hung up his consulting hat (hopefully permanently) and will now be working as an environmental toxicologist for LACSD. The new job comes with huge perks - better benefits, better hours, and best of all... Kimo now works 7 miles from home. This means that he now can spend much more time with April and Jade, which is really what it’s all about, right?

So, things are A-Okay with Morris family. Wherever you happen to be, stay warm and be well. Please enjoy this year’s slide show. Best wishes for a happy and healthy new year!
