The peculiar Hawaiian pipefish (Doryrhammphus baldwini ). Pipefish are in the same family as seahorses, and are fairly common (though hard to find) throughout the world's oceans. A unique feature of this family is after mating, the male carries the eggs, and HE is forced to endure the pains of labor! Neat idea, huh ladies? This particular pipefish in endemic to Hawaii.
